Torquay Golf Club – July 5, 2018
TUESDAY June 26: The ladies played par and with SQ Ross Lewis took out A Grade. +2 for Jeanette Kent won her B Grade and with -2 Patricia Hooper was the winner for C Grade. Judy Nestor won the 9-hole comp. with -2. NTPs Mandy Buckley Mary Sweet, Yvonne Mazylis and Di Liley hit the jackpot on the 15th.
Wednesday June 27: In foggy cold conditions the field headed out for the stableford event and most golfers were hitting their balls out of sight (so the golf shop was told 100 times) that amused those that were telling us that story!
However, the fog did finally lift in the afternoon and Paul Walters was in good touch scoring 41 points to win A Grade. B Grade winner Andrew Wright had 41 points. Phil Brown won C Grade with 38 points and D Grade went to Ed Robertson also with 38 points. Keith Nicholson one of our popular senior golfers won the Resort competition scoring 40 points. Our guest winner David Wood had 37 points. NTPs Tony Jones, James Wood, Phil Girvan, Bob Hales, Paul Walters and the jackpot John Monagle.
Friday June 29: Greg Bradley scored +4 to win A Grade. B Grade went to John Nestor with +2. There were 10 ladies that played in the competition today and Chris Rudd was the best with -1 great to see some more ladies playing on the Friday. NTPs Martin Hooiveld, Chris Rudd, Ian Foot and Raymond Liley (not to be outdone by his wife who hit the jackpot on Tuesday) hit the jackpot on the 17th today.
Saturday June 30: Paul Walters put in another great round after scoring 40 points Wednesday he followed up with another 40 points today to win A Grade, we see Paul’s handicap is now scratch and we hope he continues to play well. B Grade went to David Clark also scoring 40 points. Boyd Williams also in good form lately shot 41 points to take out C Grade. Ronnie Beacom took out the ladies win with 33 points and Resort winner was Brian Brown 39 points. Guest winner Sam Hopwood scored 40 points. NTPs Margot Bradley, Noel Jeffery, Eric Black, Alan Foss, Gary Taylor and John McKay was very happy to win the jackpot.
Sunday July 1: Noel Ryan had 42 points to take out the men’s competition and for the ladies Frances O’Brien (Commonwealth GC) 30 points. Guest winner Harrison Murphy (Midlands GC) 46 points. NTPs Nick Rendina, Sandra Lambert and John McKay. Congratulations to Luke Szczepanik scoring his first Hole in One on the 17th he finished with 35 points and also took out the jackpot win.
