THE venues of this year’s junior football and female football have been unveiled by AFL Barwon, locking in the finals piece of the puzzle concluding this season’s action.

AFL Barwon has allocated its Female Football Grand Finals to Lara Recreation Reserve, following two successful seasons of grand final days at St Joseph’s home ground at Herne Hill Reserve.

Lara Football Netball Club has previously hosted the Senior Female Football Grand Finals, back in 2019 before the pandemic.

North Geelong Football Netball Club has earned the right to host this year’s Junior Football Grand Finals at Osborne Park, capping off the end of the junior season.

“AFL Barwon is extremely grateful for the interest competitively expressed by several clubs to host the Junior Male, Junior and Senior Female Football Finals in 2024,” AFL Barwon regional general manager Edward Wilson said.

“This finals series will be another showcase of the positive progression that all clubs and competitions alike are delivering for all boys and girls playing football within the Barwon region.

“An immense thank you to all host clubs for their delivery leadership during the upcoming finals series.”

Week 1 and Week 2 of the Senior Female Finals will be held at four different venues: Winter Reserve and Victoria Park in the first week, and Osborne Park and Mount Moriac Reserve in the second week for the preliminary finals.

The first two weeks of the Junior Football Finals will be played across Surf Coast’s Banyul-Warri Fields and Torquay’s McCartney Oval in Week 1, and both ovals at Bell Park’s Hamlyn Park for Week 2.

Under 14 and Under 16 games will be spread across Saturdays and Sundays during the finals series to free up oval space.
