Winners to be decided at Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach
FINALS Day has begun at the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach Presented by Bonsoy, the fifth stop of the 2025 World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour (CT).
The event winners will be crowned today (Sunday, April 27) at Bells Beach, with the Bowl delivering semi-clean surf in the four-to-six foot range.
The remaining two heats of the men’s Quarterfinals started at 7.05am, followed by the women’s Semifinals, men’s Semifinals and women’s and men’s Finals.
“Today will be Finals Day, and we have plenty of waves on the Bells Bowl this morning,” WSL deputy commissioner Renato Hickel said.
“There is a chance that the event will go on hold over the high tide, and recommence as the tide gets low to guarantee the best conditions on the Bells Bowl. Conditions will be assessed throughout the morning.”
The day’s opening heat saw Samuel Pupo (BRA) fall to Griffin Colapinto (USA), 17.56 to 14.83.
Two event standouts, Jack Robinson (AUS) and Jake Marshall (USA), will battle in Quarterfinal 4 this morning. A heat win here will guarantee Marshall a career-best result, while for Robinson, it will get him closer to claiming his maiden Bells Trophy.
Reigning WSL World Junior Champion Luana Silva (BRA) will take on event form surfer Brisa Hennessy (CRC) in the opening heat of the women’s Semifinals.
Aussie duo Isabella Nichols (AUS) and Tyler Wright (AUS) will match up in Semifinal 2 as Wright eyes off her third Bells Trophy (2022, 2023).
