MORE than 4,000 people are expected to embrace all things agriculture at this weekend’s Bellarine Show.<\/p>\n

Sunday’s (March 9) event at Portarlington Recreational Reserve will be jam-packed with loads of competitions, workshops and displays.<\/p>\n

The popular woodchop challenge will return, as will the horse rings and gumboot toss.<\/p>\n

There will be live hand and electric shearing demonstrations, tractor and trailer rides and a new miniature and pygmy goat competition.<\/p>\n

Cattle, sheep, poultry, dogs and ducks will be on display, while a petting zoo will also feature.<\/p>\n

Trade sites and emergency service workshops are also set to light up the venue, as will the popular and vintage machinery expo and display.<\/p>\n

Local food and beverage vendors will be on hand to provide culinary delights.<\/p>\n

Bellarine Show secretary Jenny Banks said this year’s show was highly anticipated for many reasons.<\/p>\n

“We were all very disappointed with the cancellation last year, so just having the gates open and welcoming the public back to this much-loved event will be an achievement in itself.<\/p>\n

“Of course, seeing so many smiling faces and hearing the excited chatter throughout the site is also very heartwarming and tells us that the Bellarine Show is a much-loved event and holds a special place in many people’s hearts.<\/p>\n

“There really is something for everyone.”<\/p>\n

The event will run from 9am to 3pm.<\/p>\n
