Grammy Award-winning artist Ruthie Foster is ready to rock audiences across Australia in 2025, including in Queenscliff next month.<\/p>\n
The Texan musician will take to the stage at the Queenscliff Town Hall on March 7 as part of her Heartshine Australian tour.<\/p>\n
Heartshine is one of the standout tracks on her new album Mileage. Mileage reflects on Foster’s musical journey, capturing the highs and lows of her life, shaped by music, personal loss and triumph.<\/p>\n
The album recently won Best Contemporary Blues Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards and is her 10th studio recording.<\/p>\n
Inspired by her roots of singing in rural Texas churches, Foster is sure to uplift with her soul-stirring material and powerful storytelling.<\/p>\n
Foster said she cannot wait to head to Queenscliff for the first time.<\/p>\n
“I can’t recall heading there before, I’ll let it be a surprise, I guess.<\/p>\n
“[Being by the ocean] sounds perfect to me. It sounds like a beautiful area.”<\/p>\n
She said her recent Grammy for Mileage has given her great momentum heading into the Australian tour.<\/p>\n
“It’s been quite the surprise, since I’ve been nominated six times,” she said.<\/p>\n
“I feel incredibly proud, validated and excited by it.<\/p>\n
“The new album is really my life story to music, and Mileage in particular is a flagship of my life.”<\/p>\n
Joining Foster in Queenscliff will be renowned singer-songwriter and the face of Cole Clark Guitars, Lloyd Speigel.<\/p>\n
Spiegel is a 14-time Australian Blues Award winner and has played all over the world, including in North America, Asia and Europe.<\/p>\n
Rolling Stone regards Spiegel as “a revelation, the consummate performer, an Oz Blues and Roots icon”.<\/p>\n
His blend of guitar prowess, strong songwriting and humorous storytelling offer a unique chance for audiences to catch an artist who seeks to reinvent the genre and dispel the cliches associated with the blues.<\/p>\n
Doors for the Queenscliff show will open at 7pm, with music starting at 7.30pm.<\/p>\n
