{"id":100197,"date":"2025-03-02T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-03-01T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=100197"},"modified":"2025-02-27T10:25:09","modified_gmt":"2025-02-26T23:25:09","slug":"volunteers-sought-to-put-smiles-on-dials-at-dsa-ocean-grove-meet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/volunteers-sought-to-put-smiles-on-dials-at-dsa-ocean-grove-meet\/","title":{"rendered":"Volunteers to put smiles on dials at DSA Ocean Grove meet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CLOSE to 200 volunteers are expected to put smiles on dials at today&#8217;s (March 2) Disabled Surfing Association meet at Ocean Grove.<\/p>\n<p>The event will see 90 surfers with varying disabilities take to the water with the aid of volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>Volunteers will assist surfers with getting into the water, riding the waves, and forming the corridor of love for them to ride through.<\/p>\n<p>Helpers will also be sought to deliver food to surfers and volunteers, as well as assist with check in on the day.<\/p>\n<p>DSA national secretary Phil Christie said everything was in place for a fantastic day at the beach.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are looking forward to a big day.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Volunteer-wise we are just off 200, so a few more would be fantastic. We are on our peak with surfer numbers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There are a whole range of things they can do in the water and out of it.
