{"id":100209,"date":"2025-03-02T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-03-01T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=100209"},"modified":"2025-02-26T22:03:52","modified_gmt":"2025-02-26T11:03:52","slug":"foundation-tees-off-with-successful-fundraiser","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/foundation-tees-off-with-successful-fundraiser\/","title":{"rendered":"Foundation tees off with successful fundraiser"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MORE THAN 120 golfers have teed off and helped raise more than $106,000 for those doing it tough in the Greater Geelong region.<\/p>\n<p>Nearly 40 businesses participated in the Give Where You Live Foundation (GWYLF) 33rd annual e&amp;s Golf Classic at the Curlewis Golf Club earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p>The event included a standard golfing round, as well as a new Driving for Change challenge for non-golfers to get involved in.<\/p>\n<p>More than 30 guests took part in the new program which featured time in the driving range, mini golf and plenty of fun activities.<\/p>\n<p>All golfers also were spoilt to a luncheon, live entertainment and a fundraising auction led by Whitford Real Estate&#8217;s Peter Forte.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2025\/03\/golfday2_67463.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Nearly 40 businesses participated in the GWYLF 33rd annual e&amp;s Golf Classic.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>GWYLF chief executive officer Zac Lewis said the event provided laughs and great networking opportunities all the while raising important funds for the community.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In my first week as CEO of the Give Where You Live Foundation, it was wonderful to take part in the e&amp;s Golf Classic and witness the generosity of the Geelong business community firsthand.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2025\/03\/golfday3_67477.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Since its inception, the event has now raised more than $2.3 million.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Seeing so many people come together on both the Curlewis greens, and driving range was fantastic.
