{"id":101647,"date":"2025-03-28T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-03-27T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=101647"},"modified":"2025-03-26T21:00:19","modified_gmt":"2025-03-26T10:00:19","slug":"bellarine-historic-vehicle-club-revs-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/bellarine-historic-vehicle-club-revs-up\/","title":{"rendered":"Bellarine Historic Vehicle Club revs up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MEMBERS from the Bellarine Historic Vehicle Club will converge on Geelong Waterfront&#8217;s Customs Lawn next weekend for the group&#8217;s car display.<\/p>\n<p>The April 6 event will showcase vintage, veteran and classic vehicles from a range of different eras.<\/p>\n<p>Club president Jan Clissold said the club was hoping to get about 10 vehicles to the event, and encouraged the community to head along.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s to show them [attendees] cars that a lot of members are collecting and to advertise the car club movement and our own club,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s also a good way of showing the club to people around the area and let people know what vehicles are around from the olden days.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Formed in 2015, the Bellarine Historic Vehicle Club includes members ranging in age from 14 to 94, with vehicles of all makes and models.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_101653\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-101653\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-101653\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/03\/IMG_9150_34224-1-rotated.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"977\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-101653\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bellarine Historic Vehicle Car Club member Graeme Lemin and his 1955 Ford Fairlane Sunliner Convertible. Photos: ABBY PARDEW<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ms Clissold said one of the beauties about being a smaller club was the variety of machines they had.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re not a big club, we&#8217;re not a one car club, we&#8217;re any style of car, any club car doesn&#8217;t have to be an old Holden; we&#8217;re not that type of club.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>At the coming event, owners of the vehicles will be on hand to answer any questions and talk visitors through\u00a0the displays.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Clissold said she hoped people heading along will feel pleasure and enjoy reminiscing on what was around when some of them were children.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;[I] enjoy watching other people walk around our cars and talk about our cars and make enquires about the club itself.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The car display was originally planned for December 1 but had to be postponed due to wet weather with event organisers hoping for better conditions this time.<\/p>\n<p>The event will run from 10am until 2pm and is free to attend.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MEMBERS from the Bellarine Historic Vehicle Club will converge on Geelong Waterfront&#8217;s Customs Lawn next weekend for the group&#8217;s car display.
