AN EMPTY paddock at Oneday Estate Winery will be transformed into a display of all things historic for the annual vintage machinery event next weekend.<\/p>\n

Hosted by the Bellarine Vintage Machinery Group Inc, the April 13 event will feature vintage tractors and engines, classic cars, working demonstrations, horse and cart rides and much more.<\/p>\n

Children will also be entertained throughout the day with different tractor games and prizes up for grabs.<\/p>\n

Group secretary Graeme Brown said the group ran the event as a way of displaying different pieces of machinery.<\/p>\n

“It’s to use the heritage machines and use them how they used to be used in the old days so people can see how farming used to be done on the Bellarine.<\/p>\n

“They’ll be really interested and able to comprehend what they [the machines] used to do in the old days, where all the grain comes from.”<\/p>\n

Mr Brown said they also hope people will be well entertained throughout the event, with this year also including a 1900 chaff cutter as part of the display.<\/p>\n

The Bellarine Vintage Machinery Group Inc run as a not-for-profit organisation restoring, preserving and displaying different pieces of vintage machinery.<\/p>\n

After the 2024 event was cancelled due to poor weather, this year is the first time the group has hosted the event on their own, previously running as a subgroup of the Bellarine Agricultural Society.<\/p>\n

The event will run from 9am until 3pm. Entry is $10 for adults and free for children.<\/p>\n
