JULIAN Harrell attended and ran elite point guard clinics with local children enrolled in the iconnect2u Sports Basketball Academy at Northern Bay College in Corio recently.<\/p>\n
Harrell is an American basketball player, who is now an NBA free agent and looking forward to playing and training in the US professional summer basketball league in California.<\/p>\n
Northern Bay College Academy members participate in a year-long elite skills development plan.<\/p>\n
Academy participants are from Year 9 through Year 12, and, in addition to their normal year-long skills development program, were treated to \u2018one on one\u2019 technical skills, shooting drills (three point shot and free throws) and training and nutritional tips with Julian Harrell.<\/p>\n
He is the first of the US pro guards that will be travelling around Australia, the US and Asia at various iconnect2u Sports Basketball Academies, before returning to the US to participate in the US pro summer circuit.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring the year, our Academy kids are benchmarked for performance (with our scouting software and performance categories) and a few will hopefully, through hard work and high benchmark scores\/results on the court and in class, will earn the right to participate in our super skills camps in California this (American) summer.<\/p>\n
