{"id":102508,"date":"2025-04-20T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-04-19T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=102508"},"modified":"2025-04-16T19:19:43","modified_gmt":"2025-04-16T09:19:43","slug":"vintage-machinery-display-hailed-a-success","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/vintage-machinery-display-hailed-a-success\/","title":{"rendered":"Vintage machinery display hailed a success"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HUNDREDS of people made their way to the Oneday Estate on Sunday for the Bellarine Vintage Machinery Group Inc&#8217;s annual event.<\/p>\n<p>An array of vintage tractors, cars and machinery were on show throughout the day, along with displays from emergency services agencies and working demonstrations.<\/p>\n<p>Group secretary Graeme Brown said the day was a great success.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/04\/1000006926_87555.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The event catered for attendees of all ages with plenty for the kids to do throughout the day.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s two sorts of people that come: people from the city, to see what we do and how farming happened in the past; and then we get the ones that come all the time with their own vintage stuff and they come to see how our event works, and we had a really good turnout of both.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The highlights of it were that we had the ambulance service there and the two ladies that ran the ambulance service were really good and educated the public really well.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Live demonstrations throughout the day highlighted how the different pieces of machinery worked and what they were used for.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The demonstrations were really good; chaff cutting was one, people have never seen a chaff cutter working before so we had one of them going,&#8221; Mr Brown said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/04\/1000006915_87558.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Demonstrations ran throughout the day, showing attendees how the different machines operated.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We had roller mills going to roll grain like Uncle Toby&#8217;s rolled oats and an old drag saw which was really good.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The blacksmith shop was also working throughout the day as well, demonstrating the art of blacksmithing.<\/p>\n<p>Children were catered for throughout the day with games and horse and cart rides.<\/p>\n<p>The Bellarine Vintage Machinery Group Inc has plans for the event to return next year, following a similar style.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HUNDREDS of people made their way to the Oneday Estate on Sunday for the Bellarine Vintage Machinery Group Inc&#8217;s annual event.
