{"id":102713,"date":"2025-04-25T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-04-24T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=102713"},"modified":"2025-04-23T16:44:41","modified_gmt":"2025-04-23T06:44:41","slug":"art-expo-shines-bright","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/art-expo-shines-bright\/","title":{"rendered":"Art expo shines bright"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE 46th annual Bellarine North Rotary Art Expo has gone down as a major success, with hundreds of people seeing splashes of colour on canvas.<\/p>\n<p>The event at Christian College Geelong&#8217;s Drysdale campus featured more than 270 pieces from established and emerging artists from the region.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/04\/491926836_1115780530_36636.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The expo also featured works from the Bellarine Camera Club and Festival of Glass.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Works spanned various artistic styles including printmaking, oils, acrylics, watercolours and more.<\/p>\n<p>All entries were judged in their respective categories by Queenscliff Gallery directors Soula and Theo Mantalvanos.<\/p>\n<p>The $2,000 Best in Show was awarded to Glenn Hoyle for his piece Coloured Pebbles, while runner up honours were given to Denise Kranjc for her artwork Snacktime.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/04\/490691174_1115779807_36685.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Hundreds of people explored a diverse range of artworks across the Easter long weekend.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bellarine North Rotary president Ken Withers said the expo was very well received.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The event went extremely well.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Every aspect was a success, visitors, sales, photography, Festival of Glass, and even the food and drink!<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was a huge amount of work but very satisfying.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A percentage of the sale price from each painting sold will now support Rotary projects in the local community.<\/p>\n<p>The Bellarine Camera Club and the Festival of Glass also exhibited their own works as part of the expo.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE 46th annual Bellarine North Rotary Art Expo has gone down as a major success, with hundreds of people seeing splashes of colour on canvas.
