{"id":103796,"date":"2025-05-26T04:00:35","date_gmt":"2025-05-25T18:00:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=103796"},"modified":"2025-05-21T19:37:41","modified_gmt":"2025-05-21T09:37:41","slug":"bellarine-pool-hall-to-temporarily-close","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/bellarine-pool-hall-to-temporarily-close\/","title":{"rendered":"Bellarine pool hall to temporarily close"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE pool hall and reception at Bellarine Aquatic &amp; Sports Centre will be closed next month to allow for urgent works.<\/p>\n<p>Essential upgrades to the pool hall&#8217;s extraction fan and the venue&#8217;s ageing roof will be made to help ensure ongoing safety and functionality.<\/p>\n<p>The works will run simultaneously between June 2 and June 30 to minimise disruption and ensure users can return to full use of the centre as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>During this time, community members will be able to enter the centre through Shell Road, with reception temporarily relocated to the cycle room.<\/p>\n<p>The gym, Motivate30, gymnastics, studio-based group exercise classes (excluding crank), and the stadium will all remain open and continue as scheduled.<\/p>\n<p>Crank classes will be held at North Bellarine Aquatic Centre.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy mayor Ron Nelson thanked the community for its patience.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We appreciate your understanding during this time and apologise for the inconvenience,&#8221; Mayor Nelson said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These essential upgrades to Bellarine Aquatic &amp; Sports Centre are set to improve the facility&#8217;s functionality as well as user experience.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We hope the community will show its support for the Surfside Caf\u00e9 when the repairs are complete and the centre reopens.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Surfside Caf\u00e9 will remain open for three weeks before closing from June 22 to June 27.<\/p>\n<p>Webstar&#8217;s Swim School classes will be relocated or automatically suspended.<\/p>\n<p>Additional aqua aerobics classes have been scheduled at reciprocal centres Splashdown Leisure Centre and Leisurelink Aquatic &amp; Recreation Centre.<\/p>\n<p>Users can visit the City&#8217;s other indoor and outdoor Swim Sport &amp; Leisure centres at no extra cost.<\/p>\n<p>Members also have the option of suspending their membership during the works through the Member Portal.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, including class booking instructions and relocation details, head to <a href=\"http:\/\/membership.geelongaustralia.com.au\/BASCTemporaryClosureFAQs\">membership.geelongaustralia.com.au\/BASCTemporaryClosureFAQs<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE pool hall and reception at Bellarine Aquatic &amp; Sports Centre will be closed next month to allow for urgent works.
