AFTER one season with Geelong United’s WNBL team, Hannah Hank will make the move to Poland for their upcoming 25\/26 season.<\/p>\n
Hank has exercised the European out clause in her contract and will suit up for Polish club KS Basket.<\/p>\n
During her short time in Geelong, Hank showed outstanding growth on and off the court.<\/p>\n
She averaged 8.1 points and 4.8 rebounds per game during United’s inaugural WNBL season.<\/p>\n
Her hard work and dedication also saw her rewarded with Australian selection for the Gangarrus in 3×3 competition.<\/p>\n
Speaking via the official Instagram account of her new Polish team, Hank said she was super-excited for this\u00a0new opportunity.<\/p>\n
“I’m definitely looking forward to coming over to Poland, meeting my coach after some great conversations, and meeting my teammates.<\/p>\n
“I’ve never been to Poland so I have a lot to look forward to.”<\/p>\n
Geelong United general manager of pathways and NBL1 women’s head coach Megan Moody said the club was very pleased for Hank.<\/p>\n
“This is a great opportunity for her, and a well-deserved one.<\/p>\n
“We thank Hannah for her contributions throughout our first WNBL season, and hope to see her back in a Geelong jersey again in the near future.”<\/p>\n
Hank will continue to play out the remainder of the NBL1 South season here in Geelong before departing.<\/p>\n
She had two double-doubles in United’s wins against Knox (17 points and collecting 10 rebounds) and Mt Gambier (22 points and 11 rebounds) at the weekend.<\/p>\n
United has extended its winning streak to 10 following the two wins.<\/p>\n
Captain Jaz Shelley has continued her scintillating form, scoring 41 points across the two matchups.<\/p>\n
The men’s side went down by 19 to Knox and fell by 6 to Mt Gambier on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Demarcus Gatlin was gallant for Geelong, scoring 18 points to go with 21 rebounds.<\/p>\n
Tristan Forsyth, Marach Marach, Jackson Talbot and Owen Odogie all scored in double figures.<\/p>\n
