This unique rock is used for its great textural colourings and grain.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We cut it to size using the grain to split the rock cleanly. We then use specialised tools to smooth out the edges and prepare the stone for laying in place.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Everything is done by hand and it can be quite laborious, but a labour of love,&#8221; Andrew said.<\/p>\n<p>AM Stone Masons has been involved in every stone fa\u00e7ade for the Henderson and Ormond home, currently working on some of the last homes with each fa\u00e7ade taking around two to three weeks to complete.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Stone masonry is a unique skill, not at all like bricklaying,&#8221; Moore said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/06\/IMG_0243_54522.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"754\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">AM Stone Masons has been involved in each facade created for the Henderson and Ormond Home.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What we don&#8217;t want is straight lines with the laying of the stone. It is more about creating the intricate patterns and textures and laying the stones in place is a bit like playing Tetris.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This type of intricate stonework is commonly found on high-end homes where the quality finishes are important. It&#8217;s definitely not a cheap feature.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Andrew Moore and Tom Wilson are both locals and have enjoyed having the regular work over the past nine years working on the Bellarine Springs homes.<\/p>\n<p>This commitment to using local materials by local tradespeople helps the local economy and supports other small businesses in the area.<\/p>\n<p>It helps to keep the skills of stone masonry alive and in demand.
