{"id":10514,"date":"2018-05-23T07:56:34","date_gmt":"2018-05-23T07:56:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=10514"},"modified":"2018-05-28T02:04:51","modified_gmt":"2018-05-28T02:04:51","slug":"art-brings-colour-to-epworth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/living\/art-brings-colour-to-epworth\/","title":{"rendered":"Art brings colour to Epworth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Local Jan Juc artist Jenny Laidlaw has recently launched her newest exhibition in a gallery space with a twist: it\u2019s located inside Epworth Geelong.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ms Laidlaw said she was aware the state-of-the-art hospital had the Epworth Arts Foundation\u2019s public gallery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were overseas for four months and when I came back I had all this new, original art work that I\u2019d done. I was trying to find a place to put them and exhibit them and thought I\u2019d call Epworth,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Laidlaw said her exhibition, Friendship is a Flowering Tree, features artworks that are bright, whimsical and happy that appeal to any age group.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am hoping that my exhibition enriches, inspires and enlivens patients, staff, medical and nursing students, visitors and the broader community,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe exhibition is located in the hospital foyer area on the ground level of Epworth Geelong with 27 of my artworks on display and for sale.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ms Laidlaw, represented by Eagles Nest Gallery in Aireys Inlet, works with pen, ink and water colours, and said she\u2019s been drawing for as long as she can remember.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve got a fine arts degree and I\u2019m a full-time artist.
