The Prestige Jayco Geelong expansion<\/a> is bringing a welcome lift to the local economy, with the major project creating new jobs, doubling servicing capacity and cutting wait times for customers.<\/p>\n

The long-standing family-owned business is investing in a state-of-the-art sales, administration and service centre at its Newcomb site. Backed by the Victorian Government\u2019s regional development fund, the project features two new workshops and 22 work bays.<\/p>\n

Victorian Minister for Regional Development Jaclyn Symes recently toured the site to view progress.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis expansion is transforming the facility and will create more jobs for locals as well as increased capacity to the benefit of customers,\u201d Ms Symes said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re proud to invest in projects that help regional businesses grow.\u201d<\/p>\n

The development will generate 15 new local jobs, taking Prestige Jayco\u2019s workforce to 57. The new roles include workshop technicians, sales and administrative staff. The expansion also positions the business to branch into caravan accessories, opening further growth opportunities.<\/p>\n

Member for Geelong Christine Couzens said the project was a strong boost for the local economy.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are proud to support the growth of local businesses in Geelong, which play a key role in helping the regional Victorian economy<\/a> thrive,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Prestige Jayco founder and owner John Spence thanked the state government for its backing.<\/p>\n

\u201cPrestige Jayco values the support from the Victorian Government for the building of our new Workshops and Parts Centre,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe project will enable Prestige Jayco to significantly improve customer service.\u201d<\/p>\n

The expansion follows the completion of a pre-delivery and service workshop in December 2023, also supported by the state. It forms part of more than $47 billion invested in regional Victoria<\/a> over the past decade.<\/p>\n
