FAMILIES are invited to jump on their bike for a fun educational outdoor adventure along the Bellarine Coastal Trail this school holidays.<\/p>\n

The event combines cycling, walking, birdwatching and a nature treasure hunt.<\/p>\n

Starting at Wrathall Reserve in Indented Head, participants will explore a 5km stretch of the scenic coastline, stopping at popular shorebird habitats along the way.<\/p>\n

Each group will receive a treasure hunt list and access to binoculars to help them identify bird species.<\/p>\n

Whether pedalling or walking, it is a chance for families to connect with nature and discover the rich birdlife of the Bellarine Peninsula.<\/p>\n

The special birdwatching event is part of the Geelong Nature Festival.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The special event is part of the Geelong Nature Festival and has been organised by the Friends of the Red-capped Plover Bellarine and Bellarine Bicycle Users Group with support from BirdLife Australia, Bellarine Catchment Network and Bellarine Bayside.<\/p>\n

The Bike and Birdwatch Family Adventure will begin at Wrathall Reserve, 354 The Esplanade, Indented Head on July 19 and run from from 1pm to 3pm.<\/p>\n

Participants should bring a bike, helmet, water bottle, snacks, and binoculars if you have them. Entry is free but places are limited.<\/p>\n
