Earlier this month Jack collected a bag of litter at the Flinders Parade Playground and his mum kindly shared this photo with us. This was such an impressive effort that the CEO of the Victorian Environment Protection Authority, Nial Finegan, caught word and said: \u201cJack, you legend! We at EPA Vic know we can\u2019t protect the environment alone and need local heroes like Jack.\u201d Picking up rubbish when you see it is one solution to the<br \/>\nhuge litter problem we have on the Barwon Coast. If you know a local litter legend we\u2019d love to see your pics \u2013 send them through to us on our social accounts (listed below) or email marketing@barwoncoast.com.au.<\/p>\n<p><strong>OCEAN GROVE SURF\u00a0<\/strong><strong>BEACH COMPLEX<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Ocean Grove Surf Beach Complex &#8211; the Dunes Restaurant and the Ocean Grove Surf Lifesaving Club is currently being demolished to make way for the construction of a new complex. We are excited to be making a start on this project after years of consultation and planning. The expected completion\u00a0date for the building is March 2019. A\u00a0tower that will enable the Ocean Grove Surf Lifesaving Club to conduct beach patrols will be completed by November 2018 in time for the start of the summer season.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DOGS ON BEACHES\\<\/strong><strong>CONTROLS CHANGE\u00a0<\/strong><strong>AS OF MAY 1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please be mindful that as of May 1, some of the seasonal dog control orders have changed.
