EVENT organisers are celebrating the success of the fourth annual C+M Build Group Barwon Heads Football and Netball Club Captains Club Lunch, held on July 12.<\/p>\n

About 60 people filled the club rooms for the event. where guest speaker Andrew Welsh was interviewed by MC Ian Cover.<\/p>\n

A former Essendon player and incumbent Essendon Football Club vice president, Welsh spoke about his beginnings and how he got into sport, followed by his business endeavours.<\/p>\n

“He talked a bit about his role on the board at the Essendon Football Club and he’s been hinted at as the next president,” Captains Club co-ordinator Dale Fraser said.<\/p>\n

“He’s started off with a small business, his original business was hiring construction fences and toilets to construction sites, now he is a developer of land all throughout Australia.<\/p>\n

The two speakers held the room for 75 minutes as they took a deep dive into Welsh’s background.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

 <\/p>\n

“Ian Cover does the interviewing, and he’s excellent at what he does and how he delves into people’s backgrounds or into their story.”<\/p>\n

“They enthralled and engaged with the audience and held the audience quiet for 75 minutes and were well and truly accepted by them.”<\/p>\n

The Captains Club is a coterie group of club supporters whose members receive additional rewards as part of their package, including the\u00a0recent lunch.<\/p>\n

“We will give them a luncheon each year, and hopefully it turns out as it did this year, they’ve all been successful and we get really good guests” Mr Fraser said.<\/p>\n

This was also the first year the event has had the lunch catered, adding to the atmosphere and triumph of the day.<\/p>\n
