THOUSANDS of comic lovers and toy collectors will turn out today (Sunday, July 27) for the fourth edition of the Geelong Comic and Toy Fair.<\/p>\n

More than 40 vendors from across the state will exhibit top comics, toys, collectibles, replica items and more at the Geelong West Town Hall.<\/p>\n

Event organiser Evin Bryant said excitement was high following the success of their last event in April.<\/p>\n

“This will be our fourth edition, and the early goals with it was to just get it up and running and to have people in Geelong know it’s a worthwhile event to go to.<\/p>\n

“We’ve certainly achieved that, the volume of people at the event in April was enormous, and it’s gone above and beyond our expectations in regard to community engagement.<\/p>\n

“85 per cent of the crowd are local people, and it’s just really exciting to see the joy that this event brings. It brings a sense of belonging and community.”<\/p>\n

Mr Bryant said the event will have something for any enthusiast, whether it’s an awesome new comic, a top toy, new hot wheels or epic trading cards.<\/p>\n

“It’s a big mix of private collectors as well as vendors who have their own retail space. It brings change. There’s always something new at the fair!<\/p>\n

“A big thanks to the City of Greater Geelong for helping us to put it on. This is a winter special, and they’ve been terrific in helping us to get six to twelve months ahead of where we wanted to be.”<\/p>\n
