GEELONG United women\u2019s coach Megan Moody has applauded the culture the entire program has built, after her side finished undefeated across the 2025 NBL1 South season.<\/p>\n
United completed the clean sweep of the regular season with a 43-point thrashing of the Eltham Tigers in front of their home crowd at The Geelong Arena, and side now turns its attention to the finals.<\/p>\n
At the Pathways Awards Night on Wednesday last week, Moody was wary about the finals despite the incredible regular season feat.<\/p>\n
\u201c[We\u2019ve done an] excellent job so far, but let\u2019s not be satisfied,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want to keep building on what we\u2019ve got.\u201d<\/p>\n
Moody, who is in her first season at the helm, expressed her appreciation of the culture that has been built across both the men\u2019s and women\u2019s programs.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe off-court camaraderie between the (two) programs has been the best that I\u2019ve seen it in my time here.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think it\u2019s a terrific culture that we\u2019re all starting to build here and grow and I look forward to continuing and fostering that next season.\u201d<\/p>\n
Guard Gemma Potter, who moved to United this season, supported Moody\u2019s comments about the team’s impressive culture.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is obviously my first season with Geelong United NBL1 and it\u2019s been nothing short of amazing both on and off court,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis group has been super special and I think our success on court goes alongside the relationships that we have within the team off court.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re just really excited to get into finals and see how far we can go.\u201d<\/p>\n
After beating Keilor in their home Qualifying Final, United now have a week off before facing Dandenong or Diamond Valley in the Preliminary Final at the Geelong Arena on August 9 at 7pm.<\/p>\n
