Tim Hawken has completed the final stage of a three-stop tour to launch his latest novel, If Kisses Cured Cancer, with the second launch taking place at Torquay\u2019s Bottle of Milk on May 18.<\/p>\n

Guests were able to purchase signed copies of the book throughout the evening with proceeds going towards the Love Your Sister foundation in recognition of the work they do for cancer.<\/p>\n

Mr Hawken said despite not reaching his\u00a0initial goal of $10,000, he was happy with the end result and being able to give something back after receiving support when his own wife had cancer.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll went really well, I\u2019ve now completed\u00a0the three-stop tour and we managed to raise $6,615 for Love Your Sister all up. This fell short of our initial goal, but I\u2019m still stoked to be able to provide those funds towards cancer research.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe book is being received really well by all of those who have read it, which is lovely too. Lots of people commenting on the similarity of the fictional town of Ocean Heads to Torquay and the Surf Coast in general, it\u2019s nice to see people resonating with it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI dropped a bunch of signed copies in at Torquay Books before I left too, so if anyone missed out on the night, they can still get a nice little special-edition copy there.\u201d<\/p>\n
