A PORTARLINGTON mother has found stability and purpose by participating in a local mentoring program.<\/p>\n

Single mother Bridgette Quinn first connected with Parent Pathways<\/a> in November 2024, eager to support her young family by finding work in the local community<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Parent Pathways is a free, voluntary Australian Government service designed to support eligible parents of children under six as they consider their next steps.<\/p>\n

With encouragement and guidance from her mentor, Bridgette soon secured a job at a local caf\u00e9, a role she continues to hold with pride.<\/p>\n

She said the Parent Pathways program has helped her build confidence, develop new skills and gain a sense of purpose.<\/p>\n

Through the program, Bridgette has received support with travel registration to help her reliably commute to work, had access to new prescription glasses, and been given food relief<\/a> during the quieter winter period when caf\u00e9 hours were reduced.<\/p>\n

These practical supports have helped ease the pressure of choosing between essentials like rent, utilities and daily needs.<\/p>\n

She is now exploring work opportunities that provide more financial security and the flexibility to be there for her daughter.<\/p>\n

Her mentor continues to work closely with her to identify options which suit her goals and circumstances.<\/p>\n
