THERE is just one round left of the BFL home and away season, but it may well be the most dramatic weekend yet.<\/p>\n
The equation is simple for some and a headache for others, but the final top five all comes down to this.<\/p>\n
Geelong Amateur have locked themselves in for the 2025 minor premiership, sitting 60 points and three games above second-placed Torquay. The Ammos bowed out by 33 points to Modewarre in last year’s elimination final, but now have the double chance to reach their first grand final in eight years.<\/p>\n
The Tigers are one game ahead in second and look set to remain there, should they beat last-placed Ocean Grove at McCartney Oval.<\/p>\n
From here, things get interesting. Drysdale and Queenscliff sit on equal points, with the Hawks taking third place by roughly eight percent. Anglesea are one game behind and sit fifth, with Barwon Heads one game behind them in sixth.<\/p>\n
The Seagulls will host the Hawks this weekend, and the Roos will host the Coutas.<\/p>\n
Should Barwon Heads cause an upset, they will need to rely on Anglesea to lose and will sneak into the top five by percentage at the eleventh hour. However, Drysdale can lock in third position with a win and would face Torquay in a qualifying final the following weekend.<\/p>\n
For Anglesea, the task is simple \u2013 beat Queenscliff to play finals. However, if Queenscliff win, fifth spot is very much up for grabs and they then rely on the Hawks to beat the Seagulls.<\/p>\n
The Coutas will also be hoping Drysdale lose, so they can move into third and secure the second chance. If they beat the Roos by a big margin and the Seagulls smash the Hawks, they could jump spots anyway.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
