{"id":108303,"date":"2025-08-21T04:00:47","date_gmt":"2025-08-20T18:00:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=108303"},"modified":"2025-08-21T04:00:47","modified_gmt":"2025-08-20T18:00:47","slug":"glamorous-fundraiser-dazzles-in-geelong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/glamorous-fundraiser-dazzles-in-geelong\/","title":{"rendered":"Glamorous fundraiser dazzles in Geelong"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ONE of Geelong&#8217;s most fashionable fundraisers has again delivered a huge boost to cancer services within the region.<\/p>\n<p>Barwon Health Foundation&#8217;s Catwalk4Cancer event was attended by more than 250 people, bringing style, strength and heart to the runway.<\/p>\n<p>The unforgettable night of fashion and fundraising showed just how powerful community can be when they unite for a common cause.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 596px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/08\/C4C25_56_82720.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"596\" height=\"397\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fundamental Models ready to showcase Husk Geelong West on the catwalk.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Among the standout moments of the night was a moving personal story shared by passionate cancer awareness advocate Joanna McRae.<\/p>\n<p>The Geelong local is familiar face to many, having thrown her support behind multiple Barwon Health Foundation initiatives including Dry July, Ceres Life Love Tees and past Catwalk4Cancer events.<\/p>\n<p>Her advocacy is driven by love and support for her sister Bek Bainbridge who is living with an incurable brain cancer diagnosis.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Catwalk4Cancer is all about community and giving back to the services that make such a difference in the lives of so many,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>The catwalk featured a fabulous showcase from some of Geelong&#8217;s most loved local and national fashion brands including HUSK Geelong West, Pearls and Roses, Westfield Geelong, Cercle Lifestyle, Lord&#8217;s Design Menswear and Birdskin.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/08\/C4C25_124_82671.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"600\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The catwalk featured a fabulous showcase from some of Geelong&#8217;s most loved fashion brands.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The unique and beautiful collections were brought to life by a talented line-up of models from Fundamental Model who all generously donated their time.<\/p>\n<p>Guests were also treated to stunning performances from event MC Gorgi Coghlan and her performing partner Anna-Lee Robertson &#8211; the Songbirds.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 602px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/08\/C4C25_85_82700.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"602\" height=\"401\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Gorgi Coghlan and Anna-Lee Robertson performing as the Songbirds.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Ms Coghlan brought a deeply personal connection to the cause, with her brother Nigel receiving cancer care at the Andrew Love Cancer Centre.<\/p>\n<p>Barwon Health Foundation executive director Zoe Waters thanked all attendees for their generosity.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;With all funds raised going directly to Barwon Health&#8217;s cancer services, Catwalk4Cancer 2025 attendees can be proud that they have helped to contribute to cancer care and support right here in our region,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ONE of Geelong&#8217;s most fashionable fundraisers has again delivered a huge boost to cancer services within the region.
