{"id":108367,"date":"2025-08-25T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-08-24T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=108367"},"modified":"2025-08-22T10:42:13","modified_gmt":"2025-08-22T00:42:13","slug":"cider-expert-to-run-course-at-flying-brick","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/cider-expert-to-run-course-at-flying-brick\/","title":{"rendered":"Cider expert to run course at Flying Brick"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Bellarine&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/flying-brick-to-roll-out-carols-by-the-barrels\/\">Flying Brick Cider House<\/a> will host one of the world&#8217;s top cider authorities as he facilitates Australia&#8217;s first internationally accredited cider education course<\/p>\n<p>Created by the American Cider Association (ACA), the Level 1 Certified Cider Guide (CCG) course will be held onsite at Flying Brick next month.<\/p>\n<p>To run over the course of the afternoon, this L1 CCG training by Lee Reeve has been developed specifically for those who work directly with consumers and trade customers, such as those working in retail and hospitality, importers, distributors, wholesalers and employees of cider producers.<\/p>\n<p>It is also a program for cider fans, aficionados and drinkers keen to expand their knowledge and passion.<\/p>\n<p>The L1 CCG is designed to empower participants with a professional standard of knowledge and appreciation of different types of cider and how they are achieved, an approach to assessing cider and the different sensorial qualities they have, and guidance on the best practice principles for serving, storing and selling.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates will receive a study guide and a link to the online exam in advance of the workshop.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/08\/FlyingBrick_Paddle_32206.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Flying Brick Cider House will host the September 17 event.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The afternoon itself will consist of Mr Reeves&#8217;s presentation of the materials from the study guide and an opportunity for questions.<\/p>\n<p>There will also be a guided sensory session of at least three <a href=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/cidery-cellar-door-proposed-in-drysdale\/\">ciders<\/a>, demonstrating the key structural characteristics within cider and using a structured approach to their assessment.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Reeve is regarded as the leading authority on cider in Asia and is a noted international speaker regarding its cider scene, market, and industry.<\/p>\n<p>He is the owner\/operator of inCiderJapan, and also the creator\/organiser of the Japan Cider Cup Tasting Competition &amp; International Cider Event.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Reeve has been a regular contributor to CiderCraft and Malus magazines, and joined the ACA&#8217;s team in June 2024 as its licensed educator for Japan, China, Korea, and elsewhere in Asia.<\/p>\n<p>The course will take place at Flying Brick Cider House in Wallington on Sepetember 17 between 1pm and 5pm and is limited to a maximum of 20 participants.<\/p>\n<p>For more information or to book tickets, head to <a href=\"http:\/\/ciderassociation.org\/september-17-level-1-ccg-workshop-in-wallington-australia\">ciderassociation.org\/september-17-level-1-ccg-workshop-in-wallington-australia<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE Bellarine&#8217;s Flying Brick Cider House will host one of the world&#8217;s top cider authorities as he facilitates Australia&#8217;s first internationally accredited cider education course Created by the American Cider Association (ACA), the Level 1 Certified Cider Guide (CCG) course will be held onsite at Flying Brick next month.
