Dozens of kids descended on Armstrong\u2019s Burbank Homes last Saturday to help them help out the Starlight Children\u2019s Foundation with its work for sick youngsters.<\/p>\n
To celebrate the foundation as its official bedroom renovation partner, Burbank hosted a family fundraiser at its Unity Drive display centre.<\/p>\n
The FOX FM street team were on hand with all sorts of giveaways; lollies, gift vouchers, drinks, sunscreen and more. Hungry tummies were treated to donuts and coffee.<\/p>\n
\u201cStarmen\u201d Remy Murphy and Kayla Patten painted faces on excited little ones as they raised funds that will go toward brightening the lives of sick kids.<\/p>\n
Thanks to everyone who pitched in! Meanwhile, the disability display house Burbank is partnering with Villawood Properties and genU to build at Armstrong is coming along and looking to open later this year.<\/p>\n
The house will be a fully-accessible three bedroom display home showcasing numerous assistive technologies designed to support people with disabilities live as independently as possible.<\/p>\n
It will showcase an electronically-adjustable kitchen, electrically-operated blinds and windows, a high physical support bedroom with state-of-the-art hoist and many other design elements and inclusions across a variety of support needs.<\/p>\n
The project is driven by two key objectives:\u00a0normalising disability housing within mainstream residential areas; and providing an opportunity for people with disability to see the kind of housing and facilities available in a display home environment.<\/p>\n
And if you thought you saw TV cameras around Armstrong the other day, you\u2019re totally right. Channel 10 was filming for its new series Australia By Design \u2013 Landscapes. It focussed on Club Armstrong and Villawood\u2019s stunning parks, including the recently-opened district park.<\/p>\n
