{"id":109692,"date":"2025-09-18T04:00:29","date_gmt":"2025-09-17T18:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=109692"},"modified":"2025-09-17T16:50:34","modified_gmt":"2025-09-17T06:50:34","slug":"qmf-hunt-for-rising-acts-in-foot-in-the-door-and-busking-opportunities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/qmf-hunt-for-rising-acts-in-foot-in-the-door-and-busking-opportunities\/","title":{"rendered":"QMF hunt for rising acts in Foot-in-the-Door and busking opportunities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Queenscliff Music Festival (QMF) is on the hunt for<a href=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/living\/new-talent-announced-for-queenscliff-music-festival\/\"> a rising band or solo artist<\/a> ready to get their Foot-in-the-Door, as well as talented performers who can light up the streets of Queenscliff.<\/p>\n<p>The Foot-in-the-Door competitions are held annually as part of the QMF\u2019s Youth Program.<\/p>\n<p>The genre-specific, battle-of-the-bands style competition is aimed at emerging artists between the ages of 12 and 25, and is a huge opportunity to have bands and artists take the stage in front of the festival audience.<\/p>\n<p>Performers will battle it out this November for audience votes, and the act with the most crowd support may win their way onto the QMF 2026 lineup.<\/p>\n<p>This year will see two genre-based competitions: Rock (which can include hip hop but cannot be metal, emo, hardcore \u201cand other genres that don\u2019t fit into the \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/qmf-rocks-on-to-open-festival-season\/\">Queenscliff Music Festival style<\/a>\u2019\u201d) and Folk &amp; Blues (folk, blues, world, jazz, pop, \u201csinger\/songwriter types\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>Applicants must have a set with at least 15 minutes of original material.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/students-from-lorne-p-12-college-secure-win-at-queenscliff-music-festival\/\">Foot-in-the-Door<\/a> applications close on Monday, September 22.<\/p>\n<p>For the buskers, QMF is welcoming \u201ca diverse mix of acts that help create the magic&#8230; from solo singers and acoustic duos to jugglers, comedians, and everything in between\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>All buskers will be scheduled on either or both of November 29 and November 30 between 10 am and 4 pm, and can busk as much as they choose at their allocated location for their timeslot of between three hours to six hours.<\/p>\n<p>QMF patrons can submit votes online for their favourite busker, with the winner also in the running to play at QMF in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Busking applications close on October 17.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, head to <a href=\"https:\/\/qmf.net.au\">qmf.net.au<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE Queenscliff Music Festival (QMF) is on the hunt for a rising band or solo artist ready to get their Foot-in-the-Door, as well as talented performers who can light up the streets of Queenscliff.
