TWO festive favourites will be making their return to Geelong this November as part of Christmas in Geelong event extravaganza.<\/p>\n

The City of Greater Geelong is partnering with Denis Walter to bring double the cheer to a sparking evening of carols and lights at the Steampacket Gardens on November 22.<\/p>\n

Carols by the Bay will take place from 7.45pm to 9.30pm, including a lucky competition winner lighting the Floating Christmas Tree at 9pm.<\/p>\n

Santa will be making an appearance alongside some other special guests on the evening.<\/p>\n

There will be big screens, singalongs and a feast of food and beverage options on offer from nearby eateries and food trucks.<\/p>\n

Mr Walter said he was proud to host the feature event at the waterfront.<\/p>\n

“Christmas in Geelong is always such a special time \u2013 a chance for our community to come together, celebrate with loved ones, and share the joy of the season.<\/p>\n

“To see Carols by the Bay unite with the lighting of our iconic Floating Christmas Tree will be a truly magical moment for all ages.”<\/p>\n

The joint event will also mark the launch of the full Christmas in Geelong program.<\/p>\n

City Hall will again show off light projections, rows of Christmas trees will line Johnstone Park, and for the first time, there will be a Windows of the World activation and a lively buskers’ trail through central Geelong.<\/p>\n

Geelong mayor Stretch Kontelj said the region continued to embrace the beauty of Christmas.<\/p>\n

“This time of year holds a special place in the hearts of residents, businesses and visitors.<\/p>\n

“We’re delighted to deliver a variety of fun festive opportunities for families to enjoy.”‘<\/p>\n
