{"id":110744,"date":"2025-10-10T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-10-09T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=110744"},"modified":"2025-10-08T16:10:38","modified_gmt":"2025-10-08T05:10:38","slug":"musicians-trade-the-stage-for-the-bowling-green","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/living\/musicians-trade-the-stage-for-the-bowling-green\/","title":{"rendered":"Musicians trade the stage for the bowling green"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>BOWLS clubs around Victoria will come to life throughout October and November when three indie acts team up for a regional tour.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This Way North, Sal Kimber and Tuck Shop Ladies will grace bowling greens for their Beats and Bowls<em> t<\/em>our, in a celebration of music and old-school fun, including a stop at Torquay on November 16.<\/p>\n<p>This Way North\u2019s Leisha Jungalwalla said they all play different kinds of music, but are also really good friends, making for a tour that\u2019s full of family-friendly fun.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[We] just thought it would be fun to do instead of the usual venue kind of gigs and tour, we looked for a different type of event that people could come to.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI find at the moment, people are just looking for different types of ways to experience music and also different types of ways to get out in the community and go to events.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The idea for the lawn bowls tour sprouted from this line of thinking and bringing music into communities in a style that is relaxed, with lawn bowls also on offer.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the Beats and Bowls tour, Sal Kimber is making her return to the stage with her band, along with Tuck Shop Ladies, who are showcasing their latest songs.<\/p>\n<p>Torquay and the Surf Coast is not a new location for This Way North, having played in the region over the past couple of years, including at the Nightjar Festival.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m looking forward to getting back there and I think Torquay Bowls Club has probably the most beautiful setting of all the bowls clubs we\u2019re going to,&#8221; Jungalwalla said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will be gorgeous to be able to just look out onto the ocean while we are having some bowls and playing some tunes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For tickets and more information, head to <a href=\"http:\/\/thiswaynorth.com\/tour\"><strong>thiswaynorth.com\/tour<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BOWLS clubs around Victoria will come to life throughout October and November when three indie acts team up for a regional tour.
