GEELONG will travel to Perth to take on West Coast tonight (Friday, October 17) as the AFLW finals race heats up with three weeks to play.<\/p>\n
The Cats pulled away in the second half to beat GWS in Round 9 but still just sit outside the top eight, meaning they must win their last three games to be in with a chance to return to the finals.<\/p>\n
In her 50th game, Georgie Prespakis racked up 23 disposals, eight clearances, six tackles and two goals.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Eagles had a two-game win streak snapped by Adelaide at the weekend as they look to play finals for the first time in club history.<\/p>\n
They must also keep winning to remain in check with the top eight, which sets up a mouthwatering clash under Friday night lights at Sullivan Logistics Stadium.<\/p>\n
It will be the first time Geelong have travelled interstate since Round 6 after three consecutive home games at GMHBA Stadium, while West Coast return home after their unsuccessful trip to Norwood Oval against the Crows.<\/p>\n
Cats small forward Mikayla Bowen is building nicely into the season and is coming off a dominant performance against the Giants, kicking a goal from 23 disposals and eight tackles. Bowen is also a former Eagle, having moved across in 2022, so her experience in the west will be relied upon.<\/p>\n
West Coast will lean on young gun Ella Roberts, who is enjoying an impressive campaign through the middle of the ground, averaging just under 23 touches and seven tackles. Fellow midfielder Jaide Britton is also becoming a key cog in the Eagles lineup, averaging 16 disposals and 4.6 tackles.<\/p>\n
