“The history of the event, in its essence, is a celebration of connection and community values.”<\/p>\n
Returning after a three-year hiatus, the fair has given the school community and its volunteers a chance to reflect on what makes the event most special.<\/p>\n
“We have spent a lot of time reflecting on past fairs with experienced campaigners,” said Mr Edwards, “as we learn from the past to both stay true to tradition and make the event as successful as possible.”<\/p>\n
Students have played a major role in preparations, with excitement building across all year levels.<\/p>\n
Prep students Anna and Ruby said they’ve loved helping out, with Anna adding she “felt famous” after taking part in promotional photos.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Visitors can look forward to Devonshire tea featuring scones and jam made by the students, along with colourful displays of student artwork, and the decorated “Strawberry Hall”.<\/p>\n “The students are so excited,” Mr Edwards said, “for many, this will be their first fair, which is the same for me as the new principal of Wallington Primary School.”<\/p>\n For months, the school community has been counting down the days to the fair, which is a significant event in the school’s calendar this year.<\/p>\n “The fair is not just a fundraiser,” Mr Edwards said, “it’s a chance to bring our school community together and showcase everything that makes Wallington Primary School so special.”<\/p>\n All proceeds from the fair will go directly toward supporting Wallington Primary School students, he said.<\/p>\n He also added the fair offers an opportunity to educate the students on the importance of community.<\/p>\n “Being part of such an important historical event, it’s so important for students to understand the part we play in the broader community.<\/p>\n “Seeing the value and importance of volunteering, being proud of something so special \u2013 and most of all, having an awesome day with all the fun on offer.”<\/p>\n The 2025 Wallington Strawberry Fair will feature over 80 market stalls, entertainment from local bands and soloists, as well as a full day of family activities including carnival rides, craft stations, and pony rides.<\/p>\n The fair will run from 10am to 4pm on November 2 at Wallington Primary School.
