Now more than 30 years later, he is one of the biggest names in the industry.<\/p>\n<p>From the stages of the Adelaide Fringe Festival, Gold Coast Laughs Festival, the Sydney Opera House and more, the comedian has entertained crowds on some big stages.<\/p>\n<p>His next performance will take him to Geelong\u2019s Gold Diggers Arms on Wednesday, October 29.<\/p>\n<p>Owner of Geelong booking agency What\u2019s the Joke John Watts said he was looking forward to welcoming Hughes, often referred to as Hughesy, to the region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s pretty good at that observational stuff on things that are going around or poking a bit of fun at himself as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m sure a lot of his fans are pretty familiar with his style and he doesn\u2019t let anyone leave wondering at each show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Joining Hughes for the night are fellow comedians Nathan Chin and Jeremy Dooley, with the three of them all taking a different approach when it comes to their comedy.<\/p>\n<p>Dooley has been touring nationally with his Daddy Cool shows, highlighting the challenges of being a new parent, while Chin is a fast mover in the comedy game and 2024 RAW Comedy finalist.<\/p>\n<p>Watts said the three of them would all bring different experiences to the gig and all came from different backgrounds.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHughesy, he\u2019s married with teenage kids, so he talks about some of his life experiences and what\u2019s going on at the moment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDooley, he\u2019s a father with a newborn baby, so he\u2019s talked about the challenges of that; and Nathan Chin, he\u2019s a younger guy who talks about what\u2019s going in in his life in the corporate world.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019ve all got a different take on their life experiences, so it will be a good mix.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For tickets and more information, head to <a href=\"http:\/\/eventbrite.com\"><strong>eventbrite.com<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Australian comedian Dave Hughes got his first gig at 22 years of age.
