Proprietor Peter Bartlett said the latest designs of computers and laptops in the Modern PC range were proving very popular with customers.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re slimmer, lighter, with better battery life \u2013 it\u2019s more suitable for everyone\u2019s needs. People want a portable computer and to use it almost like a tablet and a computer at the same time.\u201d He said gaming computers were also making a comeback, with the bigger brands offering them.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey dropped off for a while, and then they\u2019ve been really popular again.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think a lot of people are going online and seeing e-sports and how popular that\u2019s getting, and that\u2019s driving the market a little bit, especially now a lot of the big brands \u2013 HP, Acer, Lenovo \u2013 are getting into the gaming space and supporting it, whereas previously it was all custom-built computers.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Bartlett said anyone looking to upgrade their existing computer could use Harvey Norman\u2019s full\u00a0range of software services, starting from as low as $49.<\/p>\n
Services include setting up software services, or transferring data from an old computer or laptop to a new one.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe good thing about that is that it is fixed cost \u2013 whether it takes us five, or 10, or 15 hours, it\u2019s still the same low fixed cost,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe had a MacBook recently where we spent almost two full days on it for a $99 service to make sure we got all of the customer\u2019s data.\u201d<\/p>\n
