GEELONG Falcons midfielder Mason Williams has won the Norris Harding Medal at the club’s awards night last weekend.<\/p>\n
Williams averaged 15.4 disposals, 5.2 tackles and 3.1 marks in his 17 games for the Falcons this season and also managed three senior games for local club Leopold.<\/p>\n
The 18-year-old impressed with his attack at the contest, complimented by speed and class on the outside.<\/p>\n
Angus Ford (Barwon Heads) was named runner-up in the best and fairest count, whilst Jesse Mellor (Geelong West) came third.<\/p>\n
Archer Hanegraaf won the Coaches Award and Jack Pickett was named Rising Star for the boy’s program.<\/p>\n
In the women’s program, captain Georgia Tyrrell (St Joseph’s) took out the Lucy McEvoy Medal after a dominant season that saw her average just under 25 touches and 11.2 tackles a game for the Falcons. She also won the Amy Gorell Player’s Player Award.<\/p>\n
Tyrrell also won Victoria Country’s MVP award at the National Championships earlier this year and looks a strong chance to be taken in December’s AFLW Draft.<\/p>\n
Ruck Kate O’Brien came second and midfielder Stella Huxtable came third.<\/p>\n
Father-daughter hopeful Ally Lappin won the Coaches Award for the girls program, whilst Greea McKeegan won the Rising Star Award.<\/p>\n
Tom Steinfort and Ella Condon took out the under-16 MVP awards, whilst Bianca O’Brien won the Kevin Evans Spirit Award and coach Paul Corrigan was recognised for five years’ service at the club.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
