THE Queenscliff Music Festival will go ahead for at least another two years, with the Victorian government this week confirming renewed funding to keep the much-loved event on the calendar.<\/p>\n
The support comes from the latest round of the state’s $38 million Regional Events Fund, which backs festivals, sporting fixtures and art exhibitions that boost local economies and showcase Victoria’s regional communities.<\/p>\n
This year’s event will return to Princess Park between November 28 and November 30, bringing three days of live music, food and community spirit to one of the state’s most picturesque coastal towns.<\/p>\n
Now in its 27th year, the festival will feature more than 60 artists across 10 stages, drawing visitors from across Victoria and interstate.<\/p>\n
The line-up includes an impressive mix of local and international acts, headlined by The Cat Empire, Thelma Plum and The Preatures, alongside favourites such as Tex Perkins and Matt Walker, Ella Hooper, King Stingray, The Waifs and Little Birdy.<\/p>\n
Bellarine MP Alison Marchant said the festival’s success demonstrated the power of regional events to strengthen local communities.<\/p>\n
“We’re thrilled to support the Queenscliff Music Festival on our beautiful Bellarine Peninsula,” she said.<\/p>\n
“Not only will it be an incredibly spectacle, but it will significantly boost our local economy.”<\/p>\n
Festival director Claire Strickland said the government’s backing plays a vital role in ensuring the long-running event continues to thrive.<\/p>\n
“We’re extremely grateful for the support of the state government and Visit Victoria,” she said.<\/p>\n
“The Regional Events Fund is absolutely instrumental in enabling the Queenscliff Music Festival to flourish, allowing us to showcase and celebrate music, creativity and community, while drawing visitors to our beautiful coastal region and strengthening Victoria’s music scene.”<\/p>\n
The Regional Events Fund has supported more than 450 events across regional Victoria, with the Major Events Fund also contributing to headline attractions such as the Rip Curl Pro, the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race and Beyond the Valley.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
