SIX Geelong cricketers have earned selection in the Victoria Country squad that will head to the Under 19 National Championships in Perth.<\/p>\n
Josh Slater, Liam Biddiscombe, Lincoln Koliba, Nathan Harper, Ted Bain and Zane Attard will represent their state this December.<\/p>\n
The Championships will see Australia’s most promising young cricketers go head to head, representing their states as a key stepping stone on the pathway to professional and national selection.<\/p>\n
The Victorian Country squad features a strong returned group of players from last year’s Championships, but will be without Geelong superstar Oliver Peake due to his senior Victorian commitments.<\/p>\n
Cricket Victoria talent development manager, Tom Evans said the Championships were a key opportunity for players to continue developing within the state pathway system.<\/p>\n
“We’re extremely proud of the depth of young talent coming through our pathway programs.<\/p>\n
“Many of these players have already performed at Premier and pathway level, and the National Championships give them a great chance to further develop in a high-performance environment.”<\/p>\n
