It uses modern tools, digital education and real-world community connection.<\/p>\n<p>Organisers of Neighbourhood Watch Bellarine are inviting people to join the team and work together to continue building a community where crime struggles to take hold.<\/p>\n<p>The group is being launched with the full support of Bellarine Police.<\/p>\n<p>The coming event in Indented Head will include several guest speakers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Geelong Police local area commander Inspector Clare Murphy, discussing safety on the Bellarine and why Neighbourhood Watch is important<\/li>\n<li>Leading Senior Constable Mick Tatlock from Bellarine Police, discussing elder abuse, a Neighbourhood Watch priority<\/li>\n<li>Kelly Taylor, manager of community engagement from Crime Stoppers, about how to anonymously report suspected elder abuse, and<\/li>\n<li>Sergeant Shane Connolly from the Bellarine Neighbourhood Unit will round out the session with a call to action.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Neighbourhood Watch Bellarine will be launched at Indented Head Community Hall on November 27 at 1.30pm.<\/p>\n<p>For more information or to attend this event, email Rhonda at <a href=\"mailto:nhwballarine@gmail.com\">nhwballarine@gmail.com<\/a> or text 0418 351 913 by November 25.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about Neighbourhood Watch, head to <a href=\"http:\/\/nhw.com.au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nhw.com.au<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEIGHBOURHOOD Watch will open the first dedicated Bellarine group next week.
