THE Ocean Grove Neighbourhood House has a new co-ordinator, following several months of uncertainty after the centre’s former operator entered voluntary administration in September.<\/p>\n

Stella Kinsella will take on the role from early December. Her appointment comes almost three months after the City of Greater Geelong stepped in to temporarily oversee the centre’s operations while the search for a new long-term operator takes place.<\/p>\n

Kinsella encouraged the community to come in and introduce themselves as she settles into the new role.<\/p>\n

“I know that the Ocean Grove Neighbourhood House is the heart of this township and plays an important role in keeping residents engaged, social and challenged,” she said.<\/p>\n

“I’m passionate about creating inclusive, connected spaces that bring people together and strengthen community belonging.”<\/p>\n

Kinsella brings experience in community programming and engagement to the neighbourhood house, and has previously led major community events such as the Williamstown Literary Festival and the Hobsons Bay Festival.<\/p>\n

Since relocating to the Bellarine, she has volunteered with a range of social, conservation and cultural groups.<\/p>\n

City of Greater Geelong councillor Elise Wilkinson welcomed the appointment.<\/p>\n

“Stella’s experience and community spirit make her the perfect person to help revitalise the Ocean Grove Neighbourhood House,” she said.<\/p>\n

“She has a proven track record in bringing people together and delivering meaningful community programs. We can’t wait to see her in action.”<\/p>\n
