GEELONG has emerged as one of the busier clubs during this year’s AFLW trade period, with four fresh faces to don the hoops in 2026.<\/p>\n
Nicola Stevens, Alissa Brook, Jasmin Stewart and Emma Murray all became Cats as the trade window closed last Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Stevens was traded with a future third-round draft pick to Geelong from St Kilda, in exchange for a future second-round selection.<\/p>\n
The 32-year-old brings plenty of experience to GMHBA Stadium, having played 92 games across stints with the Saints, Carlton and Collingwood, where she was an All-Australian in 2017.<\/p>\n
She has largely been used in defence across her career, but has also spent time up forward, and will prove to be a handy addition for the Cats next season.<\/p>\n
Geelong picked up both Brook and Stewart as delisted free agents.<\/p>\n
Brook is a 20-year-old defender who impressed with her speed and agility in her 10 AFLW games for the Power.<\/p>\n
Stewart brings 42 games of experience to the Cats, after initially being drafted by Fremantle before moving across to Port Adelaide in 2023.<\/p>\n
The 27-year-old has been used as both a midfielder and a forward, with her left foot skills and tackling ability set to be utilised by Geelong in their pursuit to return to the finals.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Murray is an Irish Gaelic footballer and joins the Cats as an Other Sport Rookie for next season.<\/p>\n
She was a key part in Waterford’s All Ireland Championship victory last year, with her athleticism, composure and leadership key traits as she switches codes.<\/p>\n
