DESIGN works for the Drysdale Bypass will begin within weeks, paving the way for major construction to startin September this year.<\/p>\n
Premier Daniel Andrews and Bellarine MP Lisa Neville visited the site of the new bypass on Friday to get a first-hand look at how this project will benefit the growing Drysdale and Bellarine communities.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis project has been talked about for more than 40 years, now we\u2019re getting on and delivering it,\u201d Mr Andrews said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe new bypass will upgrade the local roads people rely on, reduce congestion in Drysdale, boost safety and slash travel times along the Bellarine Peninsula.\u201d<\/p>\n
During his visit, Mr Andrews also stopped in at Clifton Springs to announce $320,000 funding for thetown\u2019s jetty, to upgrade and double its length.<\/p>\n
The 35-metre extension will include a light at the end of the platform, hand rails and rod holders along its length to
\nmake it more convenient to wet a line for calamari, flathead, whiting or small snapper.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhether you\u2019re a local in Clifton Springs or a keen angler from further afield, the extension to the fishing\u00a0platform will get more people fishing and help support the local economy \u2013 and that means jobs,\u201d Mr Andrews said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
