ROB Bradley has celebrated working at Curlewis Golf Club for a quarter of a century.<\/p>\n
The Superintendent said his biggest achievement during those 25 years was having the club recognised for what it was \u2013 a good golf course, in the top 100 for both Golf Digest and Golf Australia and becoming a destination to go and play.<\/p>\n
\u201cI started here in 1993 with a list of things I wanted to achieve,\u201d Mr Bradley said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIncreasing our rare vegetation \u2013 we now have grass trees flowering from tube stock \u2013 rosellas breeding in tree hollows, and playing surfaces improving to a point that the only complaint would be mowing heights (too short or too long).<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve achieved those three at least.\u201d\u00a0Mr Bradley said there was no better job than watching the sun come up, the views and the mowing process to achieve a good product.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut most of all I enjoy driving people around this course and showing them how good we are,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know a number of sales reps who have lost most of their day when trapped in my ute on a tour.\u201d\u00a0Mr Bradley said Curlewis Golf Club had been a big part of his career and life.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy kids grew up with Curlewis and maybe resented it a little bit with the time it consumed over summer with watering,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cMost of the people I have met aren\u2019t bad people and most would not recognise me outside of work, which is not a bad thing.<\/p>\n
\u201cA few have become friends and still offer advice that I do listen to believe it or not.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Bradley said he enjoyed having work\u00a0 experience kids from local schools coming to work and leaving seeing green keeping as more than a grass cutter.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlso, having some former employees go onto work at some of the biggest golf courses going around in Australia and some overseas.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Bradley said he had been on golf courses since the age of two, as his Dad worked in the in the industry in New Zealand<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
