THE IRONMAN 70.3 Geelong will be the only Australian stop on next year’s IRONMAN Pro Series.<\/p>\n
The world-qualifying event returns on March 22 as the second round of the 2026 series and the first IRONMAN 70.3 race on the calendar.<\/p>\n
Professional athletes will compete for ranking points and prize money, contributing to their overall standing in the 16-event global series.<\/p>\n
Regional director for the IRONMAN Group Oceania, Carl Smith, said the organisation was pleased to confirm Geelong’s place in the 2026 line-up.<\/p>\n
“It’s a great honour to have IRONMAN 70.3 Geelong as the only Australian event on the 2026 Experience Oman IRONMAN Pro Series calendar and we can’t wait to welcome some of the top professional triathletes in the world to the region next March.<\/p>\n
“This event has always been a firm favourite for triathletes from across the region and having it as a part of the IRONMAN Pro Series again in 2026 will take it to the next level.”<\/p>\n
The course begins with a swim in Corio Bay, followed by a two-lap bike leg through nearby coastal and urban areas, and finishes with a waterfront run along Geelong’s foreshore and tourism precinct.<\/p>\n
Geelong mayor, Stretch Kontelj, said the city was looking forward to hosting the event again.<\/p>\n
