GEELONG’S Premier Women have narrowly missed out on a grand final berth in the T20 competition and will now turn their attention to the one-day competition.<\/p>\n
The Cats sat third and were scheduled to play Dandenong and Carlton in T20 clashes on the weekend before the Christmas break.<\/p>\n
They defeated the Panthers in their opening match before rain forced their clash with the Blues to be abandoned, limiting their chance to push into the top two and qualify for the grand final\u00a0later this month.<\/p>\n
With their T20 campaign now complete, Geelong will shift focus to the one-day format, where they remain on top of the ladder with seven matches to play.<\/p>\n
The Cats will face third-placed Carlton at Princes Park this Sunday, January 11. With just two matches separating first and last, every result looms as significant in shaping the finals race.<\/p>\n
Geelong have won their past four one-day matches, with their most recent loss coming against Carlton in November.<\/p>\n
Carlton, meanwhile, had a disrupted end to 2025, with rain causing three of their final five matches to be abandoned.<\/p>\n
Cats all-rounder Stephanie Townsend takes form into the weekend after making 40 runs in the T20 win over Dandenong, while April Chaudhary claimed four wickets in the same match.<\/p>\n
