{"id":115740,"date":"2026-02-10T04:00:46","date_gmt":"2026-02-09T17:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=115740"},"modified":"2026-02-04T20:16:52","modified_gmt":"2026-02-04T09:16:52","slug":"programs-galore-at-ocean-grove-neighbourhood-house","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/programs-galore-at-ocean-grove-neighbourhood-house\/","title":{"rendered":"Programs galore at Ocean Grove Neighbourhood House"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NEW courses, classes and activities at the Ocean Grove Neighbourhood House are expected to bring a big boost to the Bellarine community.<\/p>\n<p>Community members of all ages are being invited to explore the range of activities which have just started at the local facility.<\/p>\n<p>From mahjong to fitness classes, to watercolour art classes and yoga, there&#8217;s something for everyone to enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>Bookings are not required and all classes are either free or low-cost.<\/p>\n<p>Programs co-ordinator Stella Kinsella said she has really enjoyed getting to know the locals and hearing which programs are in high demand.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s been great to also connect with former facilitators and groups who want to return to the timetable.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ve got a mix of classes, lessons, a support group and employment services that appeal to children, adults and older people, and we&#8217;re planning on adding more activities to the program.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m really excited to see the new timetable get underway and bring more life back to this beloved community space.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Formerly known as the Bellarine Training and Community Hub, the Ocean Grove Neighbourhood House reopened in November after the City of Greater Geelong stepped in to temporarily oversee operations.<\/p>\n<p>Rooms are also available for hire for groups and individuals who offer activities and programs for the community.<\/p>\n<p>Connewarre Ward councillor Elise Wilkinson said it had been great to see the community embrace the facility since it&#8217;s reopening.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It shows us that these types of community spaces are very important and deliver so many benefits.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Former users who are yet to get in contact about resuming their activities are encouraged to get in touch at <a href=\"mailto:oceangrovenh@geelongcity.vic.gov.au\">oceangrovenh@geelongcity.vic.gov.au<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEW courses, classes and activities at the Ocean Grove Neighbourhood House are expected to bring a big boost to the Bellarine community.
