THE BPCA1 finals picture has become clearer after a busy second day of Round 13.<\/p>\n
While seven of eight sides are still mathematically alive in the finals hunt with one round to play, the more realistic race is between the top five.<\/p>\n
Barwon Heads continued their dominant season with a convincing win over Drysdale, moving to 11-0 on the season and five games clear of second.<\/p>\n
After skittling the Hawks for 81 runs on day one, the Seagulls declared at 190 with three wickets in hand. Opener Angus Mackie led the way with 80 runs.<\/p>\n
The loss puts Drysdale into sixth spot and whilst a finals berth is still possible, the achievement becomes difficult with one match left.<\/p>\n
Jan Juc have much the same fate after going down to Armstrong Creek by 136 runs, knocking them down to seventh spot with equal points to the Hawks.<\/p>\n
Titans skipper Daniel Maclean took four wickets in the win that puts his side fifth and three points behind fourth.<\/p>\n
Queenscliff cruised to a win over Inverleigh, thanks to a five-wicket haul from Tom Kidd.<\/p>\n
The Coutas bowled the Kookaburras out for 147 in the second innings to claim the 136-run win, putting them in third spot and within reach of second.<\/p>\n
Barrabool have continued their late-season push in a six-wicket win over Anglesea, giving them a strong chance for a finals berth with one round left.<\/p>\n
After bowling the Kangaroos out for 179, the Bulls chased the total down in the 70th over thanks to unbeaten knocks of 47 and 42 from Luke Clift and Jame Jirik.<\/p>\n
The weekend’s results all of Anglesea, Queenscliff, Barrabool and Armstrong Creek in a battle for the finals, with Drysdale and Jan Juc waiting in the wings should any drastic results occur.<\/p>\n
Round 14 will see Barwon Heads host Inverleigh, Queenscliff host Drysdale, Jan Juc host Barrabool and Anglesea host Armstrong Creek.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
