FOR business owners, securing finance is rarely a straightforward process. Income structures vary, lender policies differ significantly and the time needed to navigate options is something few can afford.<\/p>\n

Grace Cartledge has worked in banking and finance for 20 years. In that time, she has seen many business owners who have made lending decisions that were misaligned with their overall structure and goals, often because they were unaware more suitable options were available.<\/p>\n

In 2025, Grace established her own business, Grace Cartledge Finance, to change that.<\/p>\n

But contributing to community is a core value for Grace, one she has embedded into Grace Cartledge Finance through her ‘Better Broking Donation Program’.<\/p>\n

Under the program, clients who settle a residential or commercial property loan can choose their preferred charity or not-for-profit organisation to receive 10 per cent of Grace’s upfront brokerage as a donation.<\/p>\n

The program reflects Grace’s belief that wealth created within the finance sector can, and should, play a role in supporting the broader community.<\/p>\n

According to Grace, International Women’s Day is an opportunity for reflection.<\/p>\n

Within the finance industry, women are still underrepresented, especially in business and commercial lending. While around 30 per cent of finance and mortgage brokers are women, the number specialising in business finance is considerably lower.<\/p>\n

But the landscape for women in business continues to evolve, with greater flexibility, enhanced support networks and expanding opportunities enabling more women to build sustainable businesses on their own terms.<\/p>\n

“For me, International Women’s Day is about visibility. It’s about being proud of the contribution we’re making to the economic growth of our beautiful region and beyond,” Grace said.<\/p>\n

“And it’s also about being available to support other great women looking to enter the industry and giving a shout out to the brilliant women who’ve lifted me along the way.”<\/p>\n

At the heart of Grace’s work is a desire for clients to feel supported, informed and confident in their financial decisions.<\/p>\n
