COTTAGE\u00a0 by the Sea has posted its best fundraising result from its Annual Giving Day, with $596,697 to go towards enhancing the lives of children from across Australia.<\/p>\n

More than 300 supporters donated to the annual campaign, with matching donors doubling every dollar donated to the charity on Tuesday last week.<\/p>\n

As a non-government funded children’s charity, Cottage relies on the generosity and philanthropic support of individuals, trusts and corporations.<\/p>\n

The immense support of the public will now allow Cottage to provide more inspiration, fun and opportunity within its holiday environment.<\/p>\n

Cottage by the Sea chief executive officer Adam Wake the remarkable result was a testament to the community’s understanding of the growing need and work that they do.<\/p>\n

“Thank you to everyone who supported our Giving Day \u2013 whether it was a matching donor, donor to the fundraiser, key stakeholder or volunteer on the day. We didn’t just reach our fundraising target \u2013 we exceeded it.<\/p>\n

“Fundraising is essential and the only way that we can guarantee our service into the future.<\/p>\n

“All the funds raised on Giving Day will go to providing the best possible programs that we can, which we are now operating out of our main Cottage building and our new Riptide facility.”<\/p>\n

Mr Wake said the fundraising result came in a timely fashion, following the opening of the secondary respite building last month.<\/p>\n

He said it would provide the organisation with a great launchpad into an exciting new era.<\/p>\n

“Riptide represents the opportunity to reach more by expanding our capacity. Now, 700 more children each year can experience the joy of many firsts at Cottage by the Sea, surrounded by positive and supportive role models, helping to set the trajectory for an entirely new path forward in life.”<\/p>\n
