Photo: Michael Chambers.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After bowing out of the 2025 premiership race with a 42-point loss to eventual premiers Anglesea, Queenscliff are determined to push further this season.<\/p>\n<p>Head coach Heath Jamieson admitted he was disappointed with the cohort&#8217;s 2025 finals series and is focusing on finals football this year.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/04\/TTVQCRound2052_47274.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Queenscliff were too strong for the Torquay outfit. Photo: Michael Chambers.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Heavy recruiting in the off-season has paid off early, with the club now sitting at the top of the ladder.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, newcomers Surf Coast Suns secured a 17-point win to earn their first premiership points in club history.<\/p>\n<p>The Suns were disappointed in their first outing of the year but four goals to Luke Catelli and Tommy Stephen put the side in good stead for a fourth quarter comeback over Portarlington.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/04\/TTVQCRound2055_47335.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Torquay were left goalless in two quarters.
